If you were a customer from 1987 through 1991 then you personally know that we vanished off the planet. We first want to apologize to you for not taking a stand against the AZ SPCC back then. Secondly, any contracts that you have, we will uphold, just give us a call, so we can update your information.
In 1987, I was told by then Director of the Arizona SPCC that we were exempt from their regulation, since we never use any chemicals, poisons, pesticides baits, lures or anything that their agency controls and regulates. I got all of my licenses and permits and started my business. I became the first woman-owned gopher trapping business in the United States. In 1991, following the death of my husband and after some time in Minnesota, we return home to open a demand from the AZ SPCC that I appear before them to answer allegations that we had used poisons! I made several calls and quickly found the documentation needed to prove that someone else had illegally used our name and was applying poisons. My witnesses and I went to the hearing and immediately learned that they had already decided what they were going to do to me, before I arrived. The AZ SPCC told me that if I contacted any of my customers, on the phone, in writing or in person, they would fine me $1,000.00 per incident! If I removed any of my traps, I would be fined $1,000.00 per incident and if I published my book, they would also fine me the $1,000.00 fine, criminally charge me and sue me for all the proceeds! Regardless of the loss of my late husband, they didn't care. Their objective was to destroy my business and keep me out of "their group". We lost everything, our home, vehicles, equipment, and respect of the community and our customers.
Fast forward 14 years. We moved back to Arizona and read a story about a young teen who was also abused by the AZ SPCC. I quickly found that even though they allowed him to return to his business, they still refused to allow me, unless we become licensed pest control applicators, even though we have never used any chemicals, poisons, pesticides or baits and we never will! This was the beginning of what we call our war against an out-of-control agency, who we are fighting against and will be exposing them for exactly what they are. This is why we vanished. We weren't allowed to contact any of you but we intend to not only contact you but uphold our contract with you if you will give us a chance. What happened was not of our doing, the death of my late husband was more than I could handle at the time. Things have changed now and we will never allow anyone to dictate what we can and can't do, without one heck of a fight!
