When it comes to Natural, Green, Safe and Environmentally Friendly methods for gophers and anything else, we are all for it. For years we have been trying to educate the public about the dangers of misuse and misapplication of gopher poisons. Unfortunately, it continues still.
The best thing you can do is plant Marigolds around the borders of your property and home. While looking great, they will help keep down the bugs. While gophers feed on poisonous plants, they don't like these plants and we know why.
People constantly ask about gopher plants, gopher purge, oleanders and an assortment of others and we can tell you that they do not work. Marigolds seem to be the only plants that offend gophers.
The best part about Marigolds is that once they've died for the season, you can pull out the dried petals (head) and they are your seeds for next season. One small marigold head will produce more than 50 additional flowers. If you plant enough, you will have enough to do what my folks do, plant about a 1/2 acre field, just for the heck of it. The don't have gophers, that's for sure!
